Default Reasonable Decision?

I am gonna make an Elementalist/Mesmer who focuses on Energy Storage, Earth Magic, and Illusion. Since there aren't any earth spells in pre-searing, would it be a good idea to put all points into fire magic until i get a decent earth spell, then take the points away from fire and put them into earth? OR...Would it be better to just spend those attribute points on Energy Storage and Illusion alone, then pump earth when I get a spell?
Thanks in advance.

until you are level-20 and in the desert, you had better pump the attributes that you have the skills for already. It is not until this point that you actually have enough of the skills of the different attributes to be able to make truly flexible choices like this.

I made my E/Me with the intent of becomnig a geomancer and I did not get enough of the Earth spells I wanted until around the time I reached the desert.

Just pump into Fire and Energy Storage and whatever Mesmer attribute you want for now. You can always switch it around later fairly painlessly.
